Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina state has directed for the lockdown of two more local government areas of the state where two new cases of COVID-19 were discovered.
The two Local Governments affected by the fresh lockdown include Mani and Jibia local Governments.
A statement signed by the secretary to the government of the state, Alhaji Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa and made available to newsmen in Katsina disclosed the one case were identified in each of the affected local government.
He therefore urged people of the affected areas to be patient and adhere strictly to the health safety guidelines given to them.
Masari added that actions were taken to safeguard peoples life, stressing that the measures were not taken to make things difficult to the people of the affected areas.
With the lockdown of the two additional local goverents it bring to five the total number of local Governments in Katsina state that were affected by the lockdown.
The local government in Katsina under lockdown include, Katsina Metropolis, Dutsin-ma, Daura, Jibia and Mani Local Governments
