Niger Govt reaffirms commitment to curb the spread of coronavirus

The Secretary to the Government of Niger State (SSG), Ahmed Ibrahim Matane has reaffirmed that the State Government is committed towards ensuring that the precautionary measures put in place by Government to curb the spread of Coronavirus in the State are adhere to by the people.
Ahmed Matane disclosed this yesterday when he received a delegation from Code of Conduct Bureau, Abuja led by the Federal Commissioner, North Central Zone, Rev. Ken Madaki Alkali held at the Conference Hall of SSG’s Office.
The SSG who is the Chairman, Niger State Task Force on COVID-19 Pandemic explained that Government has a duty to work closely with all relevant stakeholders in order to ensure that everything is been done to contain the spread of the virus in the State.
The Chairman told the delegation that the State Government under the leadership of Governor Abubakar Sani Bello has invoked the Niger State COVID-19 Preventive, Containment and Emergency Order aimed at containing the spread of coronavirus in the State.
He noted with concern the effort of Nigerlites, Health workers and other emergency response team for their untiring commitment in the fight against the spread of COVID-19 in the State and urged them not to relent.
Ahmed Matane revealed that Government has embarked on so many intervention programmes with a view to curbing the spread of coronavirus in the State.
Earlier in his remarks, the Federal Commissioner, North Central Zone, Rev. Ken Madaki Alkali told the Secretary to the State Government that they are in the State to look at the various intervention programmes of Government in containing the spread of the pandemic in the State.
During the meeting were presentations by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Social Investment Programme, Barrister Amina Musa Gwar and Head of Unit, State Cash Transfer Office, Minna, Hajiya Hadiza Muhammad Shiru.
