Niger state government says it will explore all available avenues including Economic and Financial Crime Commission EFCC to recover its missing (N5.7 billion) from pension during the administration of Dr Muazu Babangida Aliyu.
The Director General Pension Alhaji Usman Tinau Mohammed said this while addressing Newsmen in Minna on the resumption of Niger state Contributory Pension Scheme CPS.
Alhaji Tinau explained that already fifteen person have been traced to the missing funds and that the state government will not waver in it’s resolve to retrieve such monies from who soever no matter how highly placed.
According to him Niger state is now on what he described as new page in the administration of pension matters.
Tinau who allayed fears of Nigerlites however maintained that pension asset’s in Niger state is now the most protected and jealousy guarded for maximum results.
He said Contributory Pension Scheme CPS which has been suspended six years ago has now taken off last month towards providing soccour and relief to civil servants.
Alhaji Tinau commended Governor Abubakar Sani Bello for approving the resumption of Contributory Pension Scheme in keeping to his electioneering campaign promises.
Under the new scheme employer contribute ten point five percent while employee is to contribute seven point five percent.
