A 39 year old father, Obiora Patrick of No.46, hospital road,Yola North local government Area in Adamawa state has been arrested for allegedly defiling his 9-year-old stepdaughter.
Spokesman of the Adamawa state Police Command,DSP Suleiman Nguroje disclosed the development in a press statement issued Tuesday in Yola, stressing that the alleged randy father was apprehended on Monday by operatives attached to Karewa police Division in the state.
Nguroje noted that the command is assuring the public of its commitment to protection of life and properties calling of continued support and cooperation by reporting any suspicious and questionable acts to the police around them.
“Adamawa state police command wishes to inform the general public that following intensified action against sexual assault on women and children,the command on the 20/07/2020 arrested one Obiora Patrick ,a 39 year old resident of No.46 Hospital road,Jimeta,Yola North,for raping his 9-year old stepdaughter.
“The suspect upon his arrest volunteered confessional statement while the victim is undergoing medical screening.
“The command calls on members of the general public to key in to key in to fight against sexual assault against women and children and caution parents/ guardians to closely monitor their wards.
“We also urge you to report any suspicious movement around you to the police for necessary action for the safety of all”, the statement said.
