A chief magistrate court in Katsina yesterday issued a warrant of arrest on Governor Shema’s security aide, ASP Ali Abu-Bakr Bauranya over his alleged failure to appear in court despite a bench warrant issued to him.
The chief magistrate court, had last week issued a bench warrant against the security aide for his failure to appear in court to answer charges filed against him by one, Yahaya Kabir over alleged assault and criminal force among other charges.
Bauranya failed to appear in court as directed by the chief magistrate, a development that made the counsel to the complainant, Barrister A.D Umar to call the attention of the court to the continued disrespect of a valid court order by the accused.
The counsel to the complainant similarly argued that with the conduct of the accused and their demand for justice, they were therefore left with no option other than to demand, “For a warrant of arrest to be issued against the accused”.
The chief magistrate, Kabir Shu’aibu therefore directed that the accused most be arrested and brought to court on Thursday 4th April to answer charges leveled against him by the complainant.
The complainant, Yahaya Kabir has earlier filed charges of alleged assault, criminal force, criminal intimidation, mischief and intentional insult against the security aide, Ali Abubakar Bauranya, alleging that, on the 13th March 2014, the accused attacked him and smashed his car’s front, back and side windscreen.
