The federal government through the ministry humanitarian affairs, disaster management and social investment flaged-off the distribution of relief materials to flood victims in Jigawa state.
Speaking during the flagging off, the minister humanitarian affairs, disaster management and social investment, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouk said, it is part of efforts to sympathize with affected communities in the state.
She explained that, “upon receiving the news of the unfortunate incident, president Muhammad Buhari directed my ministry to activate National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to join hand with State emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and asses and respond by providing the support to affected persons.”
