The incessant security challenges facing the people of Zuru Emirate, Kebbi State is taking a toll on the socioeconomic wellbeing of the entire Emirate
In a statement signed by the chairman of Ibakkana Association, mouth piece of the area, Sheik Mikail, said the people of Zuru, Danko-Wasagu, Fakai and Sakabai Local Government Areas are now left to face the brunt of banditry, kidnapping, cattle rustling as assistance from security agencies are not encouraging.
The Chairman said most surprisingly the Kebbi State Chief Judge at a gathering recently in Birnin Kebbi outlawed the ‘Yan-Sa-Kai Vigilante group that hitherto have been providing quality security to the people of the area, threatening to declare it a terrorist group.
After the threat the statement said
“On the 25th of September armed bandits attacked and killed one person in Akawo, two persons at ‘Yar Kasuwa and kidnapped five from Fakai Local Government Area”.
