Defending champions Kano Pillars survived at giant killers Abia Warriors in Umuahia as the game ended goalless on Sunday.
Kano Pillars now have five points from four matches, while Abia Warriors have six points from four games.
Abia Warriors still basking in the euphoria of their 1-0 win at Enyimba could not break the Kano pillars wall of the defence marshaled by Kingsley Udoh and Umar Zango, with Theophilus Afelokhai making some big saves.
Pillars striker Kabiru Umar told MTNFootball.com that it was a tough match and he was happy for the point away from home.
“It was a tough match; we battled against all odds to get the one point. I am happy we didn’t lose. We will build on that,” Umar promised.
