The BMM project developer in charge of Kuje ultra-modern market in Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Bulus Musa Moro’a, has said that the BMM Limited would spend N1billion for the building of an ultra-modern Market in the area within six months.
Moro’a, who disclosed this in an interview with newsmen during the foundation laying ceremony yesterday in Kuje, said that the market when completed will contain 460 units of shops with 23 blocks of buildings.
He further said that the facilities such as fire service, police station, water, bank, good road network, drainage, refuse dumps, electricity, parking space and toilets would be provided by the BMM Limited to put smiles on the faces of the traders in the market.
He said that the market would provide job opportunities for youths as well as generate revenue base for the area council.
He assured the residents of Kuje that the shops would be allocated to them at low rates, “we are building the market to assist the less privileged in the society”.
The chairman of Kuje, Hon. Ishaku Shaban Tete, said that the ultra-modern market project was initiated by the area council as part of his campaign promises to provide dividends of democracy for the people.
He said that he would give the necessary support to the developer for quick completion of the project.
On his part, the Gomo of Kuje (Second class chief), Alhaji Haruna Tanko Jibrin, commended the council chairman for initiating the project.
