The chief of Gofidna Community in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Ismaila Tuura, has appealed to the council’s chairman, Micah Yohanna Jiba to drill boreholes for people in the community.

He said the boreholes would help to boost availability of potable drinking water in the area.

Also, he urged the chairman to connect the community to the national grid, in order to arrest the problem of electricity supply in the village.

Tukura, who made the appeal in an interview with People’s Daily the community, pointed out that Gofidna Community for so long now, had been neglected by the government, in the area of social amenities.

The monarch, however, used the occasion to call on the chairman to upgrade him to the status of the village head to enable him to benefit from the area council.

He called on the chairman to repair the dilapidated roads to fast track development in the area.

Furthermore, he requested the chairman to establish a pooling unit in the community to enable the people from some neighbouring villages to come to the area, to vote for the candidates of their choice during the 2015 election.

He pleaded with the leadership of AMAC to provide fertilizers and tractors to farmers on time, to enable them to carry out their farm activities in this year’s dry farming season.
