Taskforce mulls COVID-19 random checking in Abuja

Just three days into resumption of schools in Abuja, the FCT Ministerial Enforcement Task team on COVID-19 has disclosed plans to carry out random checking in all the schools to ensure compliance with the laid down safety protocols.
The Taskforce also issued a strong warning on school violating COVID-19 protocols as schools resumed on Monday in the Territory.
Making this point known, Head of Publicity and Enlightenment of the Task Team, Ikharo Attah noted that the team will carry out random checking in all the schools to ensure compliance.
Attach, in an interview on the heels of the reopening of schools amid the second wave of COVID-19, noted that non pharmaceutical preventive items have been provided and enlightenment carried out during the first resumption after lockdown across the schools in FCT, adding that those materials already on ground should be put into use.
While calling on the authorities of schools and parents to collaborate and ensure compliance to COVID-19, Attah noted that it will be more dangerous to embark on another lockdown for failure of compliance.
The Federal Government had last week after stakeholders meeting in the wake of the second wave of COVID-19 insisted that schools in Nigeria be reopened for study as earlier scheduled during the closing sessions in December 2020.
