The World Health Organisation (WHO) said more than 26,000 people have received their first dose of Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines in Kaduna as at 23rd March 2021.
Dr. Sambo Godwin Ishaku disclosed this while speaking to Health Correspondents in kaduna yesterday.
Speaking on the topic”Myths and Facts”, he said 180,000 vaccines were received in kaduna, adding that no death have been recorded.
He said the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine through the COVAX facility, led by the World Health Organisation, has commenced vaccination beginning with healthcare workers.
He also reaffirmed that the vaccine being administered across the country has no side effect.
Dr Sambo Ishaku declared that all speculations about the vaccines were false and therefore enjoined the public to ignore the misinformation.
He noted that the existence of such anti- vaccination group to any newly developed drug had always been there, adding that what is happening today is not new.
