Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has frowned at the shoddy construction of a 36km road contract handled by a Chinese Construction Firm CGC.

The Governor made the displeasure while inspecting the road yeaterday

The road which traverses through Igbor to Wannue home country of the Minister for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs Sen. George Akume is worth over 2.6 billon naira.

According to Ortom, more than 80 percent of the contract sum has been already been paid, regretting that the road which he inherited from his predecessor have undergone construction for more than 7 years.

“This is highly unacceptable. For 7 years work has been on this road and it has been completed. I am not impressed at all and the standard of work is poor. This road cannot even last for one year. I give the contractors two (2) weeks to complete work on this project”.
