From Mustapha Adamu, Kano

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said that Nigeria is surprisingly competing with bandits in recruiting young Nigerians, saying “and it is time for the political leaders to do the needful.”

Tinubu made the disclosure yesterday in Kano during his 12th Colloquim, held at the Corronation Hall at the  Government House.

Tinubu, lamented  the rate of unemployment in Nigeria, which was put at 33 percent, calling on the federal government to recruit fifty million youths into the Nigeria Army, Police and other security outfits so as to reduce joblessness among them.

The former governor of Lagos State noted that failure to massively recruit youths in the country would make bandits continue to take advantage and recruit them on peanuts.

“ The rate 33 per per unemployed youths is heart disturbing we must creat job for the youths to have rest of mind. The situation in Nigeria is that the government is competing with bandits in recruitment of bandits.

“Therefore, the government needs to recruit the youth who are unemployed. Recruit like 50 million youths into Nigerians Army, Police and other security agencies. Take care of them and their welfare,” Tinubu said.
