Gombe state governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has said the 30,000 minimum wage that was set aside to pay workers is not enough.
Governor Yahaya stated this during the occasion of the commemoration of the international workers day at the Pantami stadium on Friday.
He said his administration has taken civil servants with keen interest which prompt salaries are been paid.
According to him, Gombe state government recently released the sum of N775million for the settlement of second trench of gratuity arrears for retirees.
He called on civil servants to do the needful by taking their jobs seriously as government is ready to support them.
Speaking at the event, chairman Nigeria Labour Congress Gombe state council, comrade Mohammed Adamu Musa appreciated government for its effort since 2019.
He commended the effort of the government for releasing the sum of N1.5billion for the settlement of backlog gratuity for both the state and local government retirees.
