Group, trains 50 education officers on UBE act

Legal Defense and Assistance Projects (LEDAP) has organised training for 50 education officers on strategy for implementing the Basic Education Act in Kaduna state.
Speaking during the opening ceremony of the training held in kaduna yesterday, the state Coordinator of LEDAP,
Mr. Michael Aboh explained that his Organisation plays a key role in the campaign for the right to education especially girls and child right to education.
He asserted that by virtue of the Universal Basic Education (UBE) Act of 2004, the right to free, compulsory and universal primary and junior secondary education under Section 18 (3) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is an enforceable human right.
