We will collaborate with vigilante groups in Delta – Ukah

The Delta State Government has assured vigilante groups in the state of its continued support in whatever way feasible with a view to tackling incidences of crime in the state.
The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Chief Patrick Ukah, made this known on Wednesday when he presented cheques to the widows of Late Emeka Nwaedozie and Late Festus Monye, members of the Okpanam Community Vigilante who were shot dead by suspected herdsmen in Okpanam last year.
Chief Ukah noted that security was everyone’s business and so people must ensure that they alert the security agencies anytime they notice any security breach in their locality.
He said citizens must collaborate with the security agencies through intelligence gathering which he said will go a long way in controlling challenges of security in the state.
He commended the members of the Okpanam Community Vigilante for their good work in securing their community from hoodlums and pledged a motorcycle to the group to help in their surveillance activities of the area.
