After nine years without single polio case in Jigawa, the state government has targetted over 1.7 million children to be immunize against the outbreak of the disease in the state.
This was announced by the director Jigawa state primary healthcare development agency Dr Sambo Shehu while briefing news men on the preparation of the exercise schedule to commence on 28th June to 3nd July 2021.
He explained that after spending nine years without polio in Jigawa, now the state government decided to immunize under five years old children to strengthen their immune system against the polio disease.
“Jigawa state government is ready to implement outbreak response which is polio eradication campaign to start on 28th to 3nd July 2021.”
