The Youth wing of Federation of Muslim Association of Nigeria (FOMWAN) Kaduna State Chapter has expressed dismay over the high rate of Gender-Based violences ( GBV) in the State.
The Deputy Amira of the Youth wing, Aisha Yakubu made the remarks during sensitization campaign to DARUL ASMA’UL Husna Acedemy Kaduna.
She described the current ugly development across the state as sad and unfortunate, considering the vulnerable nature of the group of people and their crucial roles in the society as homemakers and mothers.
Aisha Yakubu stressed that Islam frowns at any form of violence against women and regards GDV as a grievous crime under the Sharia.
“We need to be advocates and actors in the fight against SGBV because our girls, boys, women and persons with special needs need to be protected,” she said.
