Zamfara State Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle has been awarded ‘Ambassador of Peace’ for his administration’s efforts in collaboration with security agencies in the fights against the lingering cattle rustling, kidnapping and armed banditry to the barest minimum.
While presenting the awarding plague, the awarder, national Coordinator of the Concern Citizen for Good Leadership and Sustainable Initiative (CCGLSDI), Alhaji Umaru Bodinga, said Governor Matawalle’s administration has to be commended as it recorded welcome achievements in regard to peace restoration in the state.
He stressed that, unlike other awards, the decision to award Zamfara State Governor was based on reality as the Peace Initiative which was introduced by his administration has yielded positive results, adding that, “The efforts had even attracted a frequent visit by merchants from other states across the nation.
“Our organization learnt that, there is free movements from one local government area to another by the people in the state which was absolutely impossible before Matawalle came on board, and security experts had confirmed that, about eighty percent of the lingering crimes were formidably ended.
“Until before and within the year 2019 when Governor Matawalle took over power as Chief Security Officer, killings and abductions were enmasse and were the topics mostly emerged on the front pages of national dailies, but now the case is reverse”, Alhaji Bodinga has stated.
Also speaking, the Chairman board of trustees of the organization, Senator Lawali Hassan Anka, said the aims of the initiative of the concern citizen was to mobilize and preach on leaders and youths on the importance of Good Leadership and perfect unity amongst the teeming tribes across the nation.
“It is still not late for Nigerians to do away with ethno-religious differences, forgive the wrongs already done and embrace peace heartily by becoming brothers keepers as we all belonged to religions which always taught on oneness and tolerance to different perceptions”, Senator Anka has stressed.
In his acceptance speech, the newly sworn in Zamfara State Coordinator, Alhaji Murtala Ishaka, assured dedication to the objectives of the organization, saying, “This is none political as shown by the composition of the state leadership, but the only primary duty was ensure good leadership during every every every election from the federal down to wards level”.
