The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has said it will not relent in complying with the provisions of the freedom of Information Act.
NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim disclosed this yesterday during the opening ceremony of NYSC Freedom of Information Act Desk Officers’ Workshop in Abuja.
The workshop with the theme; “Boosting Government’s Fight against Corruption through the Freedom of Information Act”, was organised for NYSC FOIA Desk Officers from all the NYSC State Secretariats and NYSC National Directorate Headquarters, Abuja.
The NYSC boss commended the commitment and resourcefulness of the Desk Officers, as well as the entire workforce of the Scheme, which has contributed immensely to the modest heights attained so far.
Ibrahim said NYSC has remained commited to the successful implementation of the FOI Act since it came into effect in 2011, in compliance with the Federal Government’s directive on the domestication of the Act by all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
