Niger State Government has flagged off the third Niger wet season agricultural inputs and equipment fair with hope to improve the process of production for increased output.
The event took place at Justice Idris Legbo Kutigi International Conference Centre, Minna.
The Governor of Niger State, Abubakar Sani Bello represented by the Commissioner of Agriculture and Rural Development Alhaji Zakari Haliru Jikantoro explained that the fair will provide another opportunity to assess new technologies in the agricultural value chain.
Also speaking, the commissioner of agriculture and rural development represented by the Permanent Secretary, Dr Idris Usman reiterated the determination to transform the agricultural sector in the state.
He noted that the state is implementing paradigm shift from dependence from oil to non – oil sources of revenue.
He added that it would not relent in its support for agriculture in the state as all efforts to ensure that farmers have improved varieties of seeds and other quality inputs and farming equipping are given priority.
