Church praises Kebbi Gov. for secretariat construction

The United Missionary Church of Africa (UMCA), has commended Gov. Sa’idu Dakingari of Kebbi for funding the construction of its Arewa District secretariat, located in Zuru local government area of the state.

Rev. Samuel Kukah, UMCA District Superintendent, while addressing a gathering at the inauguration of the secretariat in Zuru yesterday, commended the governor for fulfilling a promise he made two years ago.

“I commend the governor for providing the fund to construct the UMCA Arewa district secretariat and urge others to support the provision of amenities that include water, furniture and pastorium,” he said.

Kukah also hailed the governor for ensuring equal treatment of all religious groups in the area, adding that such display of fairness was responsible for the peaceful coexistence among the people..

The Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Ishaku Daudu, who represented the governor at the occasion, called on the people in the area to always exhibit religious tolerance, assuring that government would accord all religious groups equal support. (NAN)
