School feeding: FG enrolls over 600,000 pupils in Jigawa

The federal government has enrolled over 600,000 primary school pupils into the home grown school feeding program in Jigawa state.
The minister of humanitarian and disaster management Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouk, who was represented by the assistant director in the ministry Badayi Mukhatar, announced the figures during the flag-off of the enumeration of pupils enrolled into the school feeding program at Fagoji and Shuwarin LIP primary schools.
He explained that, the program was organised to feed primary one to three classes with total number of 641,295 pupils from 27 Local Government Areas of Jigawa state.
Mr Badayi maintained that, the enumeration exercise is aimed at having a data to capture all benefiting pupils in 2,211 primary schools in the state.
The assistant director maintained, that about 5,024 cook vendoors are engaged in the program.
