The Jigawa Atate House of Assembly has dispelled the rumours of planned impeachment against the Speaker, honourable Idris Garba Kareka, describing the rumours as fake news.
This was disclosed by the chairman House committee on information, youth, sports and culture, Muhammed Adamu while speaking to news men.
“It is a fake news from those don’t wish the state well, the assembly members and the speaker include the executive arm are in good working relationship any reports alleging plot to impeach the speaker is fake.
“Such issue was never discussed by the members, the house must have a reason if it must impeach the speaker; what is the reason? No senator is meddling in the affairs of the house, we are independent, can those peddling such false rumours come out and prove their allegation,” the lawmaker queried.
Furthermore , Adamu said such statement were just imaginary fiction by some groups outside the party trying to create confusion in the state.
According to him, the Assembly was concerned about the well being of the state, that made the lawmakers not to be attending seatings for some times while attending seminars and workshops outside the state confirm that he don’t know the speaker’s where about.
When asked about the Speaker’s whereabout, the Chairman House committee on information said : “I don’t know, I can not say to be frank an sincere”.
“Is not my business to be watching some one movement and the speaker inclusive, so that is not something serious to pay attention or waisted time”.
It could be recalled that, some national dailies reports that there is a plot to unseat the speaker also the member representing Jahun constituency on alleged been sponsoring by a serving Senator from the state.
According to the reports, the move to remove the speaker is in relation with the gubernatorial position in the state in 2023 as indication emerged that the speaker and the said Senator we’re all eyeing the office.
It had been said the Senator in question is nurturing ambition of becoming next Governor of the state in 2023 is making frantic efforts to unseat the Speaker by coercing some members of the state house of Assembly to commence the impeachment process of the Speaker
The speaker was said to be in an odds with the state governor Muhammad Badaru over the 2023 governorship seat. He was conspicuously absent in a series of political events hosting the governor.
