The Otunba (Yoruba Leader) of Yoruba Community in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Chief (Dr) Wasiu Tunwase, has charged the Federal Government to deem it fit to arrest the problem of strike in Nigerian Universities and other institutions of higher learning in this year in the interest of the students.
Tunwase, who gave the charge in an interview with People’s Daily Correspondent in his residence in Zuba, also urged the government of the day to provide jobs for the less privileged ones in the society.
He further pleaded with the government to provide the needed facilities in the hospitals across the country to prevent Nigerians from travelling out for medical treatment.
According to Otunba, the Federal Government should swing into action to do something about the economy in this year for the betterment of the citizens.
He, therefore, called on both Muslims and Christians to continue to embrace each other for the overall development of the country, noting that Muslims and Christians are worshipping one God.
When asked to comment on the FCT Area Councils’ election slated for February 12th, 2022, he advised the entire Yoruba in the FCT to vote for the credible candidates in their various Area Councils, saying that Yoruba People are not trouble makers.
Dr Tunwase, however, tasked the security agencies to redouble their efforts to fight the insurgents in the country.
