Following the seminar organised by the Nigerian Youth Congress (NYC) in partnership with the Chinese Cultural Center in Nigeria, the president of the National Association of Nigeria Traditional Medicine Practitioners (NANTMP) has called on Nigerian government to promote herbal medicine in the country
The president said, “if this was done, the traditional medicine practitioners would have the necessary raw-materials for maintaining the health of every individual in Nigeria”.
Maikudi, made the call while presenting his speech during a seminar organised by NYC in Abuja.
His Words: “ Before the era of alternative medicine otherwise called modern medicine, medicinal plants have been discovered and used in traditional medicine practices since prehistoric times”.
He added: “ The traditional medicine is a system of health practice based on indigenous knowledge and uses natural products from plants for treatment of diseases and maintaining health”.
