JTF kill 10 bandits in Niger community

Joint Security Forces operating in Niger state has engaged and neutralized 10

bandits who attempted to disrupt peaceful Eid-el-fitr celebration in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger state.

According to sources, armed bandits on motorcycles attempted to attack Kawo, Uregi villages in Rafi LGA to disrupt Sallah celebration in the area.

On the receipt of this information, joint security tactical teams responded swiftly and mobilized to the area where the hoodlums were engaged around Uregi, Kiribo villages and as a result 14 kidnapped citizens were rescued and seven motorcycles and arms were recovered.

Reacting, Governor of Niger State Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, commended the gallant efforts of the security personnel, including the local vigilante members.

The Governor appreciated what he described as uncommon sacrifice and encouraged the security agencies not to relent in their efforts towards mitigating against terrorism/banditry and other criminality in the State.
