National Directorates of Employment (NDE) has empowered 130 Kaduna women.
They were empowered on Tye and Dye, Organic products, stones breeds, perfumery and other various skills for them to be self independent.
According to the directorates, the training was organized for women because thy are 49.32 percent of the entire Nigerian population in 2020.
Speaking at the event, NDE Acting State Coordinator Victoria .W. Dada said the beneficiaries will be trained on eight relevant skills that are highly income generating to not only women but even for men willing to take advantage to improve their lives and that of those around them.
She said Tye and Dye is an ancient dye textile cloth in a dazzling array of tints and hues , originated from Abeokuta in Oyo State but
exported to as far as Switzerland , UK and Paris .
“ This show of art and creativity on fabrics has gone ahead to attract
millions of fashion enthusiast around the world causing the global
Market to reach USD 8.2 billion and putting Nigeria 2nd place as the
largest producers of best quality traditional textiles,” she said.
She said the profit margin of such a business is as high as 75
percent of the total investment and with small amount of money they
can easily earn a huge margin profit.
She commended the Directorates Director General Malam Abubakar Nuihu
Fikpo for the support , cooperation and for giving the beneficiaries
the opportunity to undergo the training.
