APC primary: I’ve not withdrawn from Adamawa guber race – Rep. Namdas

Chairman of the House of Representatives committee on Army and frontline Adamawa gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdulrazak Namdas has debunked speculations that he has withdrawn from the race.

The APC governorship primaries are billed to hold on Thursday, May 26 across the nation.

Namdas, in a statement released on his Facebook handle Wednesday evening, said, “Dear Delegates, tomorrow (Thursday) is the ‘D’ day. I am fully in the race for the office of Governor of Adamawa State under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Please disregard any news that claims I have stepped down. It is FAKE NEWS.

“It is going to be a contest and we are not afraid of it. It is God that gives power.  All that we are asking from our party is to conduct a free and fair election and we have been assured of it. Pls vote for me”.

Namdas, who is a second-timer in the House, represents Jada/Ganye/Mayo Belwa/ Toungo federal constituency of Adamawa and was the chairman of the House committee on media and public affairs in the 8th Assembly.

He is said to be a grassroots politician who is loved across the state, especially among the youths, women and the elderly.

Namdas is billed to face other five aspirants who have been cleared by the APC to contest in the Thursday’s primary including former Governor Jibrilla Bindow, former EFCC chairman, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu and chairman of the Senate committee on sustainable development goals, Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed (Binani).
