As part of effort to reduce pneumonia diseases in Jigawa, non governmental organisation known as Save the Children International (SCI) funded by GSK, donated hospital equipment to Kiyawa local government PHCs worth over N30 million.
Speaking while handing over the equipment, the chief of party INSPIRING project, Dr Adamu Isah said, SCI selected Kiyawa local government council to address challenges of five child killer diseases in which pneumonia is included.
He said, the project focused on two major part that would improve health care delivery, supporting community through enlightment to know the diseases and prevention ways and support to healthcare personnels.
He listed the equipment as; 70 trolleys,105 BP apparatus, 70 Peadiatric weighing scale, 210 surgical scissors, 140 Galli put, 140 kidney dish, digital thermometer and 105 stainless trey.
Other equipment include; 35 respiratory timers, 35 pulse oxymeter, 70 status cope, 70 adult wieghing scale, oxygen concentrator, giant oxygen cylinder, oxygen cylinder among other equipments.
