A group known as Forum of Concerned Nigerians, FCN has urged the International Community not to treat with levity alarm raised by Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom over the rising insecurity in the country.

Last week, Governor Ortom had in Washington DC, United States of America, raised a disturbing and timely alarm over the increasing spate of violence in Nigeria and urged the US government and the rest of the international community to hold President Muhammadu Buhari accountable for the wave of violence in Nigeria.

Spokesman of the group Peter Shande at a press conference yesterday in Makurdi, lamented that Nigeria is in a coma, averring that President Muhammadu Buhari has failed the nation.

According to him, “Nigeria is too important in the African continent and comity of nations to be allowed to become a failed state simply because a sitting President has failed.”

Shande said they expect the United States, the United Kingdom and other world powers to intervene in the security situation in Nigeria.
