Emir of Kano, Mohammed Sunusi II, yesterday paid a visit on President Goodluck Jonathan at the Presidential Villa. Although details of what transpired at the meeting are yet to be made open, an impeccable source disclosed that both men made up for the frosty relationship between them in the interest of peace and harmony.

Sanusi, a former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, had accused the government of misappropriating the sum of $20 million oil funds.

This allegation caused a lot of furore between the two men and some officials of the federal government. Despite the government opposition, Sanusi was made the Kano Emir by Governor Rabi’u Kwankwaso. There was a similar peace move by the Emir in July during the breaking of Muslim fast and this latest, according to the source, was to bolster their relationship.

It was also learnt that the Emir gave Jonathan the assurance of warm reception in Kano as he prepares for his campaign tour of the country ahead of the 2015 president election.

Sanusi was accompanied to the meeting by all senior members of the Kano Emirate council, while Vice President Namadi Sambo, the National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, Attorney General, Mohammed Adoke, and the Foreign Affairs Minister, Aminu Wali also attended the meeting.
