Jonathan finally picks PDP presidential nomination form

President Goodluck Jonathan has finally put to rest the various calls for him to pick the presidential nomination form that has solely been reserved to him by his party the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The president, who arrived the headquarters of the PDP yesterday barely hours to the official closing of the sale of the expression of interest and nomination forms amidst fanfare and celebrations by party stakeholders that thronged the venue.

Jonathan, who said was grateful to the PDP state governors that have contributed N2 million for the Expression of Interest form and N22 million for the nomination form and the TAN that have also contributed same in order for him to procure the form.

The president also acknowledged similar effort by various ethnicity groups from across the country for the same course declared that he would work with all strata of people of the country.

The PDP national chairman, Alhaji Ahmed Adamu Mu’azu, in a speech on behalf of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party said President Jonathan has been given the right of first refusal by the party as its sole Presidential candidate.

“I am happy today that he has made history, that he has come to pick his form himself. I sometimes wonder why people want to dabble into family affairs that is surely not theirs. PDP is PDP and PDP is a family. We have decided that our governors, president running for a second term that have performed creditably well will be given the right of first refusal and all of us know that Mr. President has done so many things,” he said.
