Members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, caucus in the House of Representatives, on Wednesday, visited the office of an Abuja based legal practitioner and former chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Barrister Daniel Bwala, wooing him to the leading opposition party.

Bwala, a chieftain of the APC and aide to the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege on legal mayters, resigned from the ruling APC of July 11, this year in protest against the Muslim/Muslim ticket adopted by the presidential candidate of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, who led the PDP delegation to Bwala, office in Kuzape district, Abuja, explained that members of the caucus were particularly impressed with his (Bwala’s) belief in the sanctity and unity of Nigeria, stressing that nobody should be shut out by any means and the party that he or she joined.

Elumelu stated that Bwala will be helping in the task of rescuing Nigeria by joining PDP.

According to him, “We (members of the PDP caucus in the House of Representatives) have come to ask you (Bwala) to join PDP. Join PDP to rescue Nigeria. Our presidential candidate provides such body. Of all of them, at least, he is the first to face the press with undiluted submission to the Nigerian people about what he intends to do when he becomes the president. He didn’t hide it.

“So we have come to tell you to join PDP and let us rescue Nigeria.

“This is the first time that parliamentarians will come to an individual in Nigeria, it is because of your kind of person. That shows that we respect you and we Nigerians want you to participate in rescuing Nigeria”, he stressed.

Elumelu added, “APC is a bad medicine and the step you have taken to leave them is the best.

“We know you’re a lawyer. We are all political animals and we believe should belong to a different political party to rescue Nigeria. And I believe that PDP provides that opportunity for us to rebuild Nigeria”, he insisted.

Responding, Barrister Bwala expressed appreciation to the PDP caucus members to have taken note of his contributions to nation building and promised to reflect on their request.

The legal luminary, who pleaded for time to pray on the request said that whatever he decides on will be made known to the PDP federal lawmakers soon.

In the words of Bwala, “If I say I feel elated or honored, I think it’s still an understatement. Like you rightly said, I am yet to come to terms with the reality of the kind of honor that I have to have this distinguished members of the House of Representatives people who have been playing a role in shaping Nigeria, making laws for peace, order and good government to find time. despite your busy schedule to come and demonstrate your love for me.

“I feel honored. And the only prayer tha I have is that I say God will bless each and every one of you.

_I am mindful of the problem or multiple problems that we have in the country. I believe that there must be a unanimity by every Nigerian that today’ what we’re facing is quite existential.

“And the very fact that the very fabric of our society is under threat, I think, calls for the participation of everyone to first rescue in the country. And then we can talk about politics.

“I left APC purely on principles like you rightly stated earlier. Because I believe that there must be a nation before there can be politics and for there to be a nation, the nation must be united and the divisive approach to politics is a cancer to every nation.

“And I feel that that is not right, which is why I took the decision. And after stepping down from the party, I thought I could just stay in my private practice. “But you cannot see what is happening in the country and not tell yourself if there is any party who can play a rescue in the nation, to be a part of a very mindful of the problem.

“I feel honored by your comment. I will reflect on your request, but I must say that I’m deeply deeply honored. It is not a request that you naturally say no to it, is not at all.

But it is something you have to also, pray in the same way I left the party I was in through reflective thoughts.

I want to reflect on your visit. And I’m very sure that in the coming days whatever I decided Nigerian people will know”, he said
