Niger Assembly confirms Halima as new CJ

Niger State House of Assembly has confirmed Justice Halima Ibrahim Abdulmalik as the substantive Chief Judge of the State.

Her confirmation followed a letter forwarded to the State Assembly by the State governor Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello seeking the confirmation of the acting chief judge after the retirement of the former Chief Judge,  justice Aisha Lami Bawa Bwari on 25th February this year.

The new chief judge confirmation was unanimously agreed by the lawmakers after her screening.

The lawmakers who spoke highly of the new chief judge robust and reputable background urged her to put in her wealth of experience towards enhancing the judicial system to greater height.

Responding, the new Chief Judge assured the lawmakers of her intention to digitalize the judicial system for quick and speedy dispensation of justice in the state.
