Lagos Market shut, fashola Declares 3 days fasting for abducted chibok girls

Lagos state Governor, Babatunde Fashola yesterday, declared a 3days fasting and prayer for the over 200 young female students from the Government Girls secondary school Chibok, Chibok Borno state by the Boko haram insurgents.

The leader of the market in Lagos, Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, has ordered the closure of the markets in protest of the recent abduction of schoolgirls.

Fashola while addressing Lagos state market women and Men and various groups who took to the streets of lagos and joined various cities like the United States, the United Kingdom, Borno and Abuja yesterday to demand the release of more than 200 schoolgirls that were abducted in Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State made it known that divine intervention is needed.

The Governor who was represented by his deputy, Mrs Orelope Adefulire said “Prayer is the key. We should dedicate 3days of prayer and fasting for God intervention.

Speaking further, He made it know that the state government are also involved saying the government of Lagos state under this administration will ensure that they play their complementary role in supporting the federal government.

“It is pathetic and dishearting as mothers, fathers and government to see these things happening. This is an intolerable activities from those perpetrating these evils act.

“We appreciate your concerns. We want to say on behalf of Fashola, we will do all our possible assist the federal government and the security councils to make sure those innocent souls are returned to

their parents. She assured.

The market women and men called for the immediate and unconditional release of the more than 200 abducted young women.

Addressing journalists during a protest march to Government House, Alausa, Tinubu-Ojo said as a mother, she could imagine the ordeal and traumatic experience the innocent girls would have been subjected to in the hands of their captors.

She therefore called on government and appropriate security agencies not to spare any efforts to track these girls and reunite them with their families as soon as possible.

She also enjoined well-meaning Nigerians, pressure groups, NGO’s, religious organizations to sustain issue around the missing school girls until they are effectively rescued.

“Members of the public should be very vigilant about the goings-on in their environment and volunteer information to security agencies at all times,” she said.
