Following the insecurity challenges bedeviling some communities, the Hydro Power Producing Areas Development Commission HYPPADEC has donated 40 motorcycles to the Niger State government through its Security Trust Fund to enhance security.

The Managing Director HYPPADEC,Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa made this known during the official presentation of the motorcycles in Minna, describing the security challenges as most unfortunate hence the provision of security logistics.

He promised to sustain this kind of pragmatic intervention to all the affected HYPPADEC states to ensure security of lives and properties, just like the recent provision of 2,500 motorcycles to communities through their traditional rulers to achieve security.

Yelwa further directed the states HYPPADEC Coordinators to liaise with the relevant organisations in accessing the recent impact of flooding in various communities to enable the commission come to their aide.

He lamented that no fewer than 83 communities where completely wiped out due to flooding called for warning while plans are under way to ensure the implementation of resettlement centers.

The Niger State Security Trust Fund Chairman, Mahmud Mohammad however appreciated the kind gesture of the Commission he described as timely and laudable, assuring the judicious use of the motorcycles to the benefits of the state.
