Plateau state governor, Chief Jonah Jang, has said that the ruling party should not be turned into a market place with free entry and free exit by failed politicians.
The factional Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF) who paid a courtesy visit on the National Chairman of the party and members of its National Working Commissttee (NWC) said “PDP is not a market place where people walk in and walk out. PDP has been strong and has been attracting new members contrary to what people said that Jang doesn’t want people in PDP. PDP is not a market place, if you love the party, stay and work for it,’ he admonished.
He also stated that the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would do everything possible to ensure the return of President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015.
The visit, according to Jang was to congratulate Mu`azu on his emergence as the PDP National Chairman and to pledge the loyalty of the state chapter of the party to him. He however expressed total confidence on the leadership of President Jonathan and Mu`azu, stressing that Plateau would remain a PDP state.
The governor also assured his host that the state chapter of the party was poised to do better than it did in the 2011 election.
“Plateau state gave one million votes to President Jonathan in the 2011 presidential election.
“We want to assure you that we would work with you and the party`s National Working Committee (NWC), I will never fail you and we will never disappoint you” Jang said.
Mu`azu, who applauded the delegation, also charged Governor Jang to woo more people into the party, noting that the more the merrier.
He pledged to work with the people of Plateau to achieve success for the PDP and the country at large, adding that the party was big enough to accommodate more people.
The delegation include former deputy senate president, Ibrahim Mantu, minister of water resources, Serah Ochepke, national legal adviser of the party, Victor Kwom among others.
