El-Rufai’ urges residents to key into Kaduna State health scheme

Kaduna State Governor Mallam Nasir El-Rufai’  has urged residents of the state to enrol in the state’s health insurance scheme, saying the health insurance initiative would help in achieving Universal Health Coverage.

He asserted this at the tax dialogue held at the Yar Adua Hall of Murtala Square Kaduna, yesterday.

The Governor said the health scheme was mandatory for all residents in order to have access to quality health care services scheme which was designed to reduce out of pocket expenses for the residents.

He said, “All employers are expected to register with Kaduna State Heath Contributory  (KADCHMA) to obtain a Corporate Identity Number in order to buy health plans for their employees from the Health Maintenance Organisations of their choice.

According to  El-Rufai’  the health scheme was mandatory for all residents in order to have access to quality health care services.
