Nigeria needs critical change – Anambra LP campaign council boss, Uzodike

Chairman of the Presidential Campaign Council of Labour Party (LP) in Anambra State, Joe-Martins Uzodike, has said that Nigeria is in need of critical change and needs the enthronement of a credible leader.

The council stated this yesterday during the inauguration of a 900-member Presidential Campaign Committee of the Labour Party in Anambra State.

The event also united members of the Anambra State executive council who worked with the presidential candidate of Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi, during his eight-year tenure as governor.

The chairman of the PCC in the state, Mr Joe-Martins Uzodike, during the ceremony in Awka, on Wednesday, said the LP is now a serious-minded project which is out to salvage Nigeria out of its current bad situation, adding that the country needs critical change at the moment.

He charged the members to work together to ensure that the party gets a resounding victory at the presidential poll, warning that the party would not hesitate to remove any member, found wanting in his assigned duty or office.

He said “This is the committee by the LP presidential candidate, these are those who will work for our presidential candidate. The presidential campaign is different from other campaigns and that is why all our candidates are members of the committee.

“We also thank Nigerians for finding Peter Obi worthy to contest the presidential election. Nigerians don’t need to verify anymore because all the facts have been verified. This LP is now a serious-minded project and we are out to take back Nigeria for Nigerians.”

Members of the executive council of Anambra State, who worked with Obi took time to speak, giving testimonies of their working relationship with Obi and how he used his initiative to sort out some knotty areas in governance during his tenure.

Prof Chinyere Okunna, Chief of Staff to Obi during his tenure and Mrs Azuka Enemo gave their testimonies of Obi’s sterling ability in governance.

Okunna said: “Nigeria is at a crossroads today, and we need someone who can salvage her. Obi is that person. He is a man who has demonstrated leadership in every way, and we must not miss this opportunity.”

The Anambra State chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress, Comrade Chinwe Orizu, said that NLC is solidly behind Obi.

Orizu said that NLC has confidence in the ability of Obi’s government to bring glory and prosperity to Nigeria and Nigerians.
