Naira swap: CBN deploys over 200 super agents to Jigawa rural communities

No fewer than 200 super agents are deployed by Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to various rural communities in Jigawa state for old naira notes swapping.

This was disclosed by the director Human resources and also team leader currency swap of Central Bank of Nigeria Hajiya Amina Habib while briefing news men on the measures taken by Central Bank for smooth swapping of old naira notes to new naira notes.

She explained that, as part of effort made by CBN to meet the 31st January deadline without pushing Nigerians into hardship situation, super agents are deployed to swap old to new naira notes with maximum amount of N10,000.

The team leader added that, the super agents will also open an account to those that don’t have bank account for better financial inclusion.

According to her, the team also embarked on 24 hours monitoring of banks operations to ensure that banks comply with new policy of despence new notes and receive of old notes.
