The All Progressives Congress, (APC), in Benue state has alleged plot by Governor Samuel Ortom and the Peoples’ Democratic Party,PDP to victimize and intimidate Benue electorates during the Saturday March 18th, 2023 Governorship election.
Meanwhile Special Adviser to the Governor on Media/ICT Terver Akase aptly and swiftly debunked the allegations as ‘lies’.
State Chairman of APC Comrade Austin Agada at a press conference on Wednesday, alleged that the Governor has threatened to depose traditional chiefs, sack permanent secretaries and several civil servants if they fail to vote for the PDP in the Governorship election.
He also accused Ortom of holding clandestine meeting with INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC Prof. Sam Egwu and other top officials of the Commission to manipulate the election in favor of the party candidate Hon.Titus Uba.
The APC chairman who said the party is ready to bury the PDP in the Governorship poll, urged the Benue people to go ahead and exercise their franchise without fear,promising that anyone who is sacked or victimized for supporting and voting the APC in the Saturday elections will be restored.
