Easter: Uba Sani says Peace necessary for progress, development

Kaduna State Governor-Elect Senator Uba Sani, has said Nigerians must strive to imbibe the values which Jesus Christ lived.
He stated this in his Easter massages to the people of the state yesterday.
According to him, most of the communities are in the throes of conflict and Development has been retarded, saying, Peace is the only way towards progress and development.
“Let me take this opportunity to extend my best wishes for a Happy Easter to our dear brothers and sisters of the Christian faith. I congratulate you for successfully going through the Lenten Period.
“May the good Lord reward your sacrifices, and place His holy hands upon our dear country.
“Easter is a time of spiritual and physical renewal. The Lenten Period enables the faithful to return to God through fasting, prayers and alms giving.
“It is a time for making personal sacrifices and contributing to the building of peaceful communities. We must use the opportunity provided by this period to purge ourselves of feelings of hate. We must forgive one another. We must dehumanise our communities and spread love around.
“We have just gone through a general election. We asked our people to give us their mandates to offer selfless service to them. Just as Jesus Christ lived a life of selfless service to the people, elected people must live lives of unconditional service to the people.
“If we deemphasize SELF and prioritize THE PEOPLE, we shall build more prosperous communities and our people will live happier and healthier lives.
“I thank the good people of Kaduna State for giving me their mandate. I will be a Servant Leader. I will treat our dear citizens with respect. I will be compassionate.
“Our dear state will witness sustained progress and development. All I seek is your support and cooperation. Use this Easter celebration to reflect on our journey as a state and what you can contribute to taking the state to higher heights. Everyone will have an opportunity to make his or her contribution. It is a collective endeavour.”
