Minister of Tourism, Culture and National Orientation Chief Edem Duke has predicted that the nation’s culture sector will move Nigeria from a mono-economy, create wealth and generate youth employment.

The minister said this in Abuja at a pre-event press briefing on the preparations of his ministry towards the 2014 World Culture Day celebrations slated for Wednesday, May 21.

Themed: “cultural entrepreneurship development in Nigeria”, the 2014 World Culture Day celebration has planned activities aimed at encouraging Nigerians to develop their entrepreneurship potentials inherent in the culture sector.

Some of the activities to mark the day include exhibition of arts and crafts by school children and other stakeholders, drama, dance and fashion show presentations, life demonstrations of some cultural products, beads making, traditional hair dressing and motivational talks by Nollywood Artistes and lectures by culture experts.
