No disparity in SUBEB staff salaries, says chairman

Bauchi state Universal Education Board (SUBEB) Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Dabo said he is unaware of any disparity in salaries between staff of the board and other civil servants in the state.

Dabo, who described the NASU complaint of disparity in salaries between staff of the board and other civil servant as founded, said however that he will not hesitate to rectify the anomaly if the disparity exists.

Alhaji Abdullahi Dabo was speaking on Friday, at the presentation of Awards for staff of the board organized by the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associations Institutions (NASU) SUBEB Unit, Bauchi.

Dabo who also described the occasion as historic and first of its kind in the history of the board, urged other affiliate bodies of the labour organization to emulate NASU with a view to motivate and boost the morale of staff under their jurisdictions.

The Chairman assured NASU members that they will be incorporated into the board’s committee on discipline and promotion, as he directed the Accountant to unfailingly issue monthly salaries payment slips to staff of the board.

He applauded NASU for its concern over the security of the board’s headquarters’ premises, recalling a recent incident where some men of the underworld carted away some computers and other properties from its offices.
