Tough time awaits water pipe vandals in Nasarawa – Says GM

Authority of the Nasarawa State Water Board has put in place stringent modalities in collaboration with security operatives in the state in order to combat water pipe-lines vandalism across the state; warning perpetrators to desist or face the wrath of the law.
The State Water Board General Manager Kana Ahmad Abubakar who made the disclosure while briefing journalists in Lafia the state capital, noting that the era of vandalization of water-equipment by bad eggs shall soon be over as well as assured that the Board is working closely with security agencies especially the NSCDC to monitor water facilities in the state in order to arrest those sabotaging government effort towards providing essential amenities to the citizens.
He added “There is a proposed law by the immediate past Attorney General of the State Abdulkarim Kana which spelt out that if anyone is caught with water Board pipe or cable shall be arrested and prosecuted by the NSCDC”.
The GM further emphasized that the Board has put in place machineries to protect water reservoirs from Hydro-terrorism as well as the monitoring of water chemicals for safety consumption across the state.
He however stressed that the Board is set to expand water projects in order to meet up with the increasing population as well as hailed the state government for according priority attention to the board for effective delivery.
