As Nigerians celebrate Children’s Day today, Governor of Kaduna state, Muktar Ramalan Yero has assured all children in the state of their safety while on their way to school and on their way back from the school.
He called on all children to use the period of the Children’s Day celebration to pray for peace in the state and the entire country.
In a statement signed by his Director-General, Media and Publicity, Ahmed Maiyaki, the Governor extended warm felicitation to all children in Kaduna state, promising them that “better days are ahead”.
“We are committed to ensuring that our children are given their rightful spaces in schools; because education is not a privilege, it is the right of every child.”
Governor Yero said, it is in order to increase opportunity for the younger generation to acquire functional education that the present administration is set to establish four (4) new Science Secondary Schools this year.
He also said the administration is committed towards the implementation of a Compulsory Basic Education policy that will increase child enrollment rate, with special focus on girl-child enrollment into basic education level in the state.
The Governor also promised children of his administration’s readiness to provide standard health care for children.
