Major shake-up as Wike removes heads of AICL, AEA, AEPB, AMMC,17 others

In what seems as an unprecedented major shake-up, the FCT Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike has relieved the heads of the 21 parastatals, agencies and government companies of the FCTA of their appointments.

A statement from Director of Press, (Office of the Minister), Anthony Ogunleye, yesterday, which was made available to newsmen, said their removal is with immediate effect.

Those affected are Group MD/CEO, Abuja investment Company Ltd (AICL), MD, Abuja Enterprise Agency (AEA), Director, Abuja Environmental Protection Board (AEPB), Coordinator, Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC), CEO/MD, Abuja Markets Management Ltd, MD/CEO, Abuja Urban Mass Transport Company and CEO/MD, Abuja Property Development Company.

Others include CEO/MD Abuja Technology Village Free Trade Zone Company, CEO/MD Abuja Film Village International, CEO/MD Powernoth AICL Equipment Leasing Company Ltd, MD Abuja Broadcasting Corporation,
GM, FCT Water Board, DG, FCT Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Executive Secretary, FCT Primary Healthcare Board, Director General, and Hospital Management Board

Also relieved of their positions are Director, FCT Scholarship Board, Director FCT Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Director, Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Coordinator, Abuja Infrastructure Investment Center, Director, FCT Health Insurance Scheme, and Coordinator, Satellite Towns Development Department (STDD).

“They are to hand over the affairs of their offices to the most senior officers in rank.

“Appointments into the offices will be made in due course”, the statement read in parts.
