Nigeria @63: Gov Agbu commutes death sentence of four inmates, release 17 unconditionally

Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has on Sunday commuted death sentence of four inmates to life imprisonment and released 17 others unconditionally in the State.
The governor made the declaration during the State wide broadcast to commemorate Nigeria at 63 independence.
He also appealed to the organized labour to reconsider their decision to embark on a strike nation wide and asked them to shave strike actions.
Dr. Agbu enjoined the organized labour to rather pursue enhanced dialogue in the interest of peace.
“I want to appeal to the Nigeria labour unions to suspend their intending strike, together we can build a better country.
He retreated his administration’s commitment to the welfare, prosperity and protection of citizens of the State.
He added that, his administration is ever willing to collaborate with development partners to advance the cause and its people.
He maintained that, “We are committed to working with development partners, NGOs, unions and associate to prosper Taraba to the amiable height.”
